I've been looking all over the web but I can't seem to find a tab for "Across the Universe" Originally by the Beatles but covered by Fiona Apple. The tab for either one would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows where to find it. Thanks heaps -Tao
This will probably get moved to another forum, but welcome to TB. Hopefully you'll receive some constructive response to this, but you may want to post tab requests in a more music specific forum in the future; e.g, Recordings. I doubt you'll have much luck locating bass tab for this song, but you can probably find a guitar tab providing chord progressions. I can't recall what the bass line does in that song, but if you listen to the song repeatedly, it might be a good listening exercise for picking out the notes yourself. Ignore any anti-tab posts you get. There exists a preponderance of members who are predisposed to incessant browbeating and disparaging remarks whenever someone raises the subject of tablature.
There are a few words you must use great caution with here at Talkbass. Some of them are (in no particular order): Tab Jeff Berlin God Sucks Metronome FiELdy There are many more, but that's a good starters list.
Is it that easy to get flamed on this board? Maybe those that flame others that are unaware of the locations of certain posts should constructively say so instead of ragging on someone. Man.. Stick a peice of coal up someones ass and..WOW! Out comes a diamond. Iggy

The song was sped up for inclusion on the World Wildlife Fund album (as heard on Past Masters volume II), and then slowed down again for the Let It Be album. When Phil Spector (producer of Let It Be) slowed the song down, he actually brought the song down a half step; from D to roughly C#. You can play along with the album by playing in C#, tuning your guitar down a half step and playing in D, or using a capo on the first fret and playing in C. Marc Hertzberg's transcription can show you how to play it in C. Here it is in original form... Hmmm you can make some pretty disgusting sentences out of those words.... I would post them, but they are just dirty.. Have fun, make up your own fun sentance with the above (stupidly) taboo words from here on Talkbass.com. Hmm in code: 2, 4, 6's, 1.... Not too hard to figure out.. just keep it to yourself.. ah yes, the mind of a dirty dirty little boy
I think that a thorough read through of the lyrics and tabs that I posted will show just how helpful I can be, thank you very much.
