So can anyone explain how to get the top color off to get to the bare wood(is it easy on this bass?) and would a tru oil even be worth it? I want to badly! But help me out please! Thanks:help:

Use wood stripper to remove the top coat....then sand, sand, sand

I've heard Basswood doesn't really have a nice/pretty wood grain, but if it's Alder or Mahogany, then go for it.

I don't think it'll be worth it, but if you do it, you'll probably want to use a heat gun to get the finish off.
