she's a triple threat: plays, sings, and writes good songs, and she's gotten better in all three areas over the years. I think she's terrific.

I was at the Stone Pony show as well. She was good! The Harmony hollow body she played sounded HUGE. Her chord melody solo on the Sadowsky 5 string was really good as well. Didn't expect to see her using a capo on a bass, but it worked. Her use of alternative tunings on the acoustic guitar numbers was pretty cool as well.

I'm always amazed how players with small hands compensate and get around on their instruments. Buck Dharma (BOC) is another player with small hands that does amazingly well.

Fat punchy tone with a nice muted top end. I really enjoyed that song. It's been a while since I heard a contemporary song that sounded like that.

  6. To me it just lacks top end rasp, I find the low end plenty defined tbh. I listened to this with good headphones, maybe thats an issue...?

The bass really sounded clear, but deep, through my wireless Beats earbuds.

Pretty much the same as when I saw her in Seattle a couple years ago. The Fender got most of the action.

First time I hear her sing, I think she's a fantastic singer.

The bass is a rumbling undefined mess.
The song is like something already heard a 1000 times like many said ... it sounds like a chill Alice In Chains
Her voice well , ok fine but it didn't excite me.

Well just not the stuff for me

The fact that she is a bass player, not a bass hero just goes to show why she's so good.

i think the most important thing is the song as a whole. If she set up her tone with the high-end rasp of a vintage P, then it might not work for the song. She’s the master bass player, so she did what she did for a reason. Maybe even her producer did it, who knows? If she made an album to satisfy bass players, no one would care about it...except TB, and it would get torn apart in threads like this anyway...

She was on Bill Burr’s podcast (comedian) and explains a lot of her musical background. If you can stand Bill Burr for that long, find it on the ‘Tube and give it a listen.

I think she sounds great playing anything to be honest. There’s s vid floating around here somewhere where she’s playing an old Harmony Bass and it sounds great

She desperately needs a stylist. A decent hair-do would immediately boost her popularity.

She was actually a rhythm guitarist before she played bass

I saw her live in 2016 and she played that Precision through an SVT. Great show.
