Nah. Her hair is fine. She needs to ditch the SVT and play through one of these. That's they key to popularity.

I just can't understand why she thinks she has to sing. She is a very mediocre and boring singer and should stick to playing.

Yeah - I know she's cute, but still shouldn't sing.

My favorite song on her album is the one that she doesn’t play a bass guitar...so there you go...

Filmed in DC...of course I missed it...

  4. I wish her well and hope she continues to improve.

But to me, she is meh in her current incarnation.

Possibly, just not as a P bass, which it isn't , or as a J bass, which it also isn't.
That said, I doubt very much if her playing one will have anything to do with it's acceptance at all. :)

I know she was a very good guitarist before she learned bass.

The hair superficial, but a different look might help her a lot.

I really enjoyed the live stuff she did with Jeff Beck. I’m glad she’s moving on and doing her own thing, but I hope she does her side support bassist thing too

LOL; She's using EBS cabs now - I am pretty sure an EBS amp too.

It might help her. It sure wouldn't help some of the rest of us! If I were her, I wouldn't worry about it much.

  12. A Gentleman's response. P-bass or J-Bass, the tone is in your fingers. Speaking of fingers, take care of yours Dr. Cheese.

  13. I have never heard her before but that was very cool... nice mood and wicked playing. Some of her vocal phrasing reminded me of Bill Callaghan/Smog.

Sounds great. I like the whole cake: style, song, singing and bassing. Very cool.
  15. I was unaware until recently the she played alongside Prince. I'm glad she got that opportunity to play with a
    "musical genius".

I've listened to her new album quite a bit since it was released. "Killing Me" is my favorite, but I really like all of them. Totally dig her voice. I think I'm more inclined these days to listen to an album like this, rather than one with loads of flashy playing.

  17. I love her and I love that she's stepping out on her own terms ala John Mayer. But if I'm honest, it's a bit of unmet potential. This is one of the stronger pieces. The other work gets boring fast and more so since they're very similar in format and style. I can't wait to see what and where she goes from here and I'm super happy for the success she's having.

To all those commenting on her hair: how many shows with Jeff Beck have you played?

Would love it for her to hook up with Todd Rundgren and sharpen the edge of the knife she is making.

Agreed, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Bass sounded great imo, just a little low volume.
