I, for one, love her hair! I have enjoyed watching her develop her own style. She keeps getting better.

The tone, to me, fits the song. Isn't that the goal?

For awhile there in the late 60's Herbie Hancock was considered THE genius chord person after Bill Evans building on the tone clusters of Monk. Ran Blake is one of the last of these piano minimalists.

  7. I, for one, love her new album. It's not about "bass chops" at all - it's all about the songs, and they rock. The band is fantastic, and as my drummer/producer friend who turned me on to that album told me, you hear new elements on every listen.

It definitely grew on my after the first listen, as I understood more what to expect. Then I REALLY enjoyed it.

    Really?

Wow, check out her stuff with Jeff Beck.

I like what she is doing now but I hope she also keeps doing this sort of thing.

She plays quite a few different basses. I believe this is a Sadowsky of the J persuasion?

I cringed when someone wrote that he can't enjoy a tune that features a P-bass...
I was down right embarrassed when people started commenting on her hair...

Come on, any other forum would've mentioned her other ample charms. We've taken the medium high road. Keep it up TB!

I get the song Under The Sun stuck in my head, and the Harmony bass is nicely engineered. Aren't those pu's microphonic? Her voice really has character and that's what makes it worthwhile, but also the band intro music is post 4ad ambient.

Good sounding P...... although, I still generally don't like single pickup Precisions for myself

This is the first time I've heard her sing - It was better than what I expected

For all these guys wanting super thin necks and short scale basses because their hands are to small....observe.
