That’s because too many guys can’t be respectful and just look at her accomplishments as a musician. Hopefully this won’t turn out the same.

Such a great song. Definitely not something you’d hear and go “oh, this is a from a bassist’s album,” which is good.

Yes, indeed a beautifully written and nicely arranged Song channeling some Irish folk traditions.
The main focus is on the melody and not on “me-the-bass player”.
The song has clearly pronounced Mood and lusciously-flowing Melody.
The track has very evenly distributed instruments’ parts, each of them truly serving the song with dynamically adjusted volume to fit the song’s form.
A very good claim for an excellent indie/alternative song.
Good luck with the rest of the album’s tracks, Tal!

She is a fantastic and very talented "modernistic" bassist!!!!!!!!! If you're into that kind of playing style! (Similar in vein to whoever this guy is.)

I went to her show 2 summers ago at the jazz fest. Great player but it wasnt just a big bass solo bass oriented set.
    Very nice arrangements.

Lets show some respect this time around....

  14. Or being a singer/ artist on guitar. She is a brilliant bassist, but only middle of the pack as a solo artist imo.

    OK, I got it.
Once you assigned Tal to a bass player’s role, she needs to stay in her corner.
Don’t you ever try to write a song or touch the guitar.

    To sum up.
I really like Tal’s new song - mood, melody, harmony, etc.
I like her vision of the bass guitar role for her song truly serving the song.
I really like that Tal is expanding her musical horizons - composing, arranging, etc.
    I wish her the best.

  17. My remarks were pretty straight forward. She's very talented as a bassist, not as much so as a writer/singer/front person from what I have seen. Maybe, she will improve with time.

Some folks, like Eric Clapton, have been enormously successful stepping away from being primarily an intrumentalist to being a lead. Others, not so much so.
