I've not seen or heard her play yet but that won't last I'm sure. She's tearing it up all over NYC with some of the top players. Anyone hear or see her yet? I think she's 19 years old! I'm very much looking forward to finding out more about her.

It looks like she is getting some good word of mouth from some people. I'd like to hear some samples or see a clip.

so i was gonna ask about this and the thread is right up.

man, it's nuts, im australian and i'd never even heard of her!

i'm looking forward to hearing her play on her website when the audio is finished...

I heard about her a year or so ago from guitarist and fellow Aussie Frank Gambale's website. Appreantly she made some waves in LA last year while studying at the LA Music Acadamy (instructors include Frank, Phil Chen and Jimmy Haslip). She's cute as a button too that's for sure.

Wow, I see she also scored a Sadowsky endorsement. ...what more could you ask for?

she's 23. She is very cool, I hung with her a few years back at BB kings for the sunami benefit. Nice laid back kind a person.

It's available on her myspace page. I'll try to get the link for you.

btw, she's a TBer. :bassist: However, I'm sure she's too busy to be hanging here that much... :meh:

She's a great talent and has a so much soul and depth for someone so young. She's got a long, great career ahead of her to be sure! Playing with Chick Corea and Jeff Beck (and Vinnie Colaiuta, no less) is certainly a great start!!!! I wish her all the best!

One more thing, I happened to watch some of the "Crossroads 2007" DVD with my guitarist last night. Jeff Beck stole the show. Tal not only held the groove, but delivered a sweet solo! I'm sure she's a consummate pro, but I detected that she was somewhat in awe of being on stage with Jeff, Vinnie and Jason Rebello. Who wouldn't be? Awesome!

    Cheers,
    Kevin

I agree, but just one question - was she cold, or did she just really like her solo??? :ninja:

^^ wink! wink! nudge, nudge!! She's got nips!!! YAWN.:meh:

If Tal gives you the feelings, well, that's biology.

But since she's a fellow TBer and is on record as being uncomfortable with every discussion of her playing turning into a discussion of her body, can we show a little respect and save the Tal leering for off-channel?

nice revival of a 2 year old thread. haha

she is talented though. i wasnt so fond of a lot of her youtube clips from the namm show, jamming with marcus and such, but the crossroads song with jeff beck is great(on her part, im not a big jeff beck fan). she most certainly rocks.

Wow I just saw the crossroads 07 show. I gotta tell ya as far as I am concerned she stole the show. Of coarse I might be a little prejudiced being a bassist. I was just looking at her website and on it it said that she has only been playing for four years. That has got to be old info but still... She has a very good future ahead of her I think that its going to be fun watching what she does.

Saw the Crossroads show in TV the other night, and was very impressed with this young woman's playing. Her website says she's playing with Jeff Beck in London at Ronnie Scott's club this weekend--anybody seen the show? Report!

  20. Hey! yeah guys... I saw her on TV last night playing with Jeff Beck at a big outdoor stage. She NEVER gets flustered.. even when Beck blew the meter pretty bad a couple of times, he covered nicely and she smiling just kept that 'groove' going without a hitch. Geez.. her vibrato is so smooth up on those high registers... awesome player.. awesome polish working a very big house.
