This took years to put together, I brought
her home in buckets and boxes. Now that fall
and cooler weather are here, and I have more
time (gigs have slowed down)I'm gonna start
    taking her out more.[IMG]

It didn't always look like that... Piles of
grimy parts, and lots of "Where the hell
does this thing go?" I learned a lot of
British curse words, and found out the hard
way about Lucas electronics, SU carburetors,
    Non-synchro transmissions, and several other
British car headaches. Lots of busted knuckles,
    cuts, scrapes, burns and backaches...
    Welcome to "Slugworth's Garage"!

Unfortunately that was only for a weekend :(

But I think I have another cool ride comin' up in a couple weeks. Pics will be posted if it works out for me.

    Peace,

    James

  7. isn't that one of those soon to be released SSR pickups?
I've seen one cruzin around town here 2 months ago. Pretty cool looking, kinda in a retro hip meets new type of way.
As long as the gear fits in the hatch, its good

Wow, holy crap, those are both sweet rides. I'm gonna post my ole beat up pickup truck just to encourage the rest of the mere mortals - so I can see the other talkbass rides! Her name is Melody cuz of the sweet sound she makes when I start her up :), she's a '92 ss with a 454.

I'd take the camera outside, but I'm afraid my poor car would break the lense!
Besides, everyone knows what a 4-door '93 GMC Jimmy looks like. It's the boxy style - last year before they went to the new rounded ones.

FCM3 - that is the SSR. He put up several pics of it a few weeks ago, and I must say that though blue is my favorite color, and I usually hate red on autos, that one pictured is the absolute best looking SSR I've seen so far.

I love the Jaguar and can understand the appeal of these - but the obsession with trucks, no matter how well-customised just mystifies me - they are all ugly!!

    Here's my gig mobile:

    1997 VW GTI 2.0:

With the seats down and the Guitarist in the passenger seat (*never let guitarists drive, even on long trips... bassists are better drivers :D ), on a typical gig outing I have been able to fit:

    2 Powered Mackie PA speakers
    2 Aguilar GS112's
1 SKB 3 space (bass head) case
1 SKB Deep 4 space (monitor amp)
    2 Peavey 1x12 monitors
    1 Mackie 12 channel mixer
    2 Basses
    2 Guitars
    2 Speaker stands
    1 Fender Deluxe Reverb amp
1 Duffel bag of cables & Gtr FX pedal board
    1 gig 'toolbox'
1 Amp Stand (for the guitarist)
    3 Mic Stands
    1 Umbrella

... And yes SuperDuck, chicks dig VW's for some reason.

Congrats Clay on the new sweet ride, wish my first ride was half as nice. :bassist:

Hey James, how about the Vortec 8100 from the 2500HD Pickup?

That would make Tim the Toolman proud;)

Im still disappointed that GM never built a Smallblock S-10. The SS454 pickup was a cool idea, but imo a SS350 S-10 would have eaten it up.

Nice truck, but those tailpipes look way too small for a rat motor. Imo and Ime they should be at least 2 1/2", and those look like 1 7/8".

But please dont put any of those silly fart cans on it.
