Any suggestion's for a string through body stainless steel taperwound for the ADJ?I've been using Fender's Roundcore Taperwound but they lose the "zing" real quick.

Dean Markley SR2000 are really good as well, especially the "will Lee" set IMO. Remember, most taperwound sets will not work through the body, only through the bridge.

Good call rsautrey -- usu. the tapered portion will only
work with "top loading", but ...I caught this at the
DR site Re their Longnecks (s/s taperwounds). I dunno
if Just Strings carries these "extra long" ones. They can
    probably get`em for ya.
Is DR sayin' these strings have an extra-long tapered section?
    Email`em! :D [email protected]

Thank ya kind Texan!!I was browsing their site last night and was checking the Longnecks out.I also did a check with Just Strings and a couple of other place's that sell online and they didnt have them listed on their site's.

I'm going to email them and see if they will work properly on my bass.If Fender make's a bass string where the taper fall's on the saddle through the bridge, someone else just HAS too!!

Dolan, keep in mind that most of the other taperwound sets have tapers on all strings except the G. I know the Fenders are only tapered on the B and E. Also, Rotosound makes a set that will work through the body. RS99LD Piano string design is what they are called. They have an adjustable ball end that allows you to determine the length of the taper. I know for a fact that Dean Markley SR2000 has to be strung through the bridge. They are still awesome strings though.

Thanks R. I'm not going to sweat this too much. It isnt that big of a deal but now that I'm playing more, I want something that is going to keep the "zing" longer.I have some GHS Contact Cores that I'll use for the time being and if I cant find the taper's I'm looking for.....I'll just use S.S. string's without the taper. I'm just one of those player's that doesnt care for flatwound's,roundwound's and the like.Gotta keep my zing zanging!!

This is a follow up to my question concerning S.S. taper's on my ADJ 4 and 5 string. I decided to go ahead and order a set of DR Longnecks for my 4 and 5 and they work great and sound great.

The taper fall's right on the bridge through the body. So for anyone else with the same or similar bass, the Longnecks work perfectly.
