Discussion in 'Technique [BG]' started by themajorrager, Oct 13, 2005.

  1. hi guys, just want to know when you are tapping with your right hand (or plucking hand for you leftys) do you use the ends of your fingers or the back? ie. when you hit the fretboard are your fingernails at right angles to the fretboard?
just want to know if im doing this right?

Dude, whatever works for you. You can use the tips of your fingers, the entire face, whatever. It's what feels right to you, and sounds good to boot. I play with the face of my fingers, but it's however you want to do it.

First do it in the way that the notes sound right, after some practice and speed up your fingers will positionate atomatically in the less stressing pose and that will make you press with an specific part of your finger tip.

Personally, I use the tip of my right-hand middlefinger, but I've seen it done many other ways. What ever works for you.
