Tapping?

Discussion in 'General Instruction [BG]' started by Bluez Dawg, Jan 31, 2006.

  1. What is this taping I've been hearing about? Is it some kind of new finger style?

  2. well Tapping is when you "tap" or press a note at a certain fret and release it . Im not very good at explaining this but a very easy example is kirk hammets solo on one .. the fast one at the end

  3. Becuase it sounds like what I've been doiing sense I started taking up the bass.

Is there anything you do different if you are tapping on fretless equipment?

  7. not really, just be more carefull about where u hit the fingerboard so you hit the right note, but if you playing a fretless you should probly already know that. If you want to see tapping on a fretless check out some of Les Claypool's stuff or Micheal Marning
