*FREE SHIPPING* (within contiguous U.S.) Willing to negotiate for a local sale! This is a red, fretted Taylor AB3 Acoustic Electric Bass Guitar in excellent condition (except for one cosmetic issue explained below). This bass was designed in a collaboration by Steve Klein and Robert Taylor and produced in limited numbers. This one was put out in 98-99. The finish is Gloss Red with an inlayed ivoroid Steve Klein signature on the fretboard. Many say that this is the best acoustic/electric bass out there. Sounds amazing as is or plugged in. Comes with soft case pictured here. Condition would be like new and I'd be selling it for a whole lot more if it wasn't for a crack running from the base of the bridge to the edge of the body (see attached picture), but it was repaired by David Neely (http://www.neelyguitars.com/), one of the best in the biz, and sounds good as new. Now it's merely a cosmetic issue. Very lightly used. Never played out with it, only at home. This is a GREAT DEAL for someone who wants one of these basses but can't afford the high price (I've seen them go for anywhere from $1800 to $2500 in near mint to mint condition). If you're interested, make me an offer! Also feel free to email with any questions. No trades please, sorry!
Ah, yeah, I remember those now, with the "wedge" body shape. Would like to try one, but I've got way too many already.
Absolutely stunning. Hard to tell, but I wonder if the top is beginning to belly which is causing the bridge to lift. Major bump nonetheless. Best of luck!
Hey guys, sorry for the late response to these inquiries. I specifically included the detailed pics of the bridge so that there are no misunderstandings. Despite how big the gap looks in closeup, that thing is solid. Neely said is was impossible to restore to its original cosmetic condition, but he repaired and positioned the bridge so that it plays exactly like it did before (well, maybe Steve Klein could tell a difference, but no one else has been able to!). And klanger2003 - the truss rod does function properly, thanks for asking. To todde2000 - that's a lighting effect in that last photo (the CU of the bridge). The body is completely smooth; if you run your hand over it you'd never know the crack was there. In other words - no bump. Thanks all! I promise to check the thread more regularly for more questions, or feel free to message me.
