  1. here's what i made... 4 courses, served through the day, rather than gorging at once..

#1 Tomato Bisque w/ Prosciutto served in a breadbowl.

#2 Apple, Cucumber and Prosciutto salad w/ Honey Mustard Dressing. Served in the hollowed out apple.

#3 Smoked Gouda Mashed potatoes, Turkey Breast w/ Pinnaple Mango Glaze, Half Ham with the same Glaze.

    #4 Good 'ol Apple pie.

    What did you guys do???

  2. Pretty traditional.

Sage butter underneath the breast meat skin and all over the turkey, in the cavity I put some onion, garlic, and lemon. Roasted to perfection, nice and juicy.

    Glazed sweet potatoes

My mother made her spinach balls for the appetizer, and she also made a carrot\onion\bell pepper dish, and some boiled onions.

    Apple pie as well.

Here is the funny part. We had Thanksgiving at my brothers house, but he doesn't cook much, or at all so I am about to find out. He whips out a box of betty crocker potato's and a couple of cans of carrots and made some boxed stuffing for the dressing. He is recently divorced so we had a good time with it and told him how all of the stuff we made was from scratch, and then he goes and ruins thanksgiving with his trailer park potatoes and canned carrots...Thanks a lot bro! Ahhh, it's all about being together. The food was great, trailer park potatoes and all.

  3. The Mrs and I stayed home this year....

I made for us a fairly simple meal:

Traditional Turkey with sage bread stuffing (oiled and rubbed with rosemary, thyme and sage... wedged onion in pan)
Smoked Duck (purchased prepared... just had to heat)
Mashed Yukon Gold potatoes with Adobo
    Carmelized Brussel Sprouts

served with Sparkling Apple Cider to drink.

then to an Apple/cranberry pie with Edy's Vanilla bean and some homemade whipped cream

    Yummiest Turkey Day EVER :bassist:

My wife and daughter went to East Texas to spend a few days with her family while I worked. So for Thanksgiving dinner I had a bowl of leftover chili.

My last night off before Melanie's trip I had turkey, stuffed mushrooms, baked sweet potatoes, and green beans.

While she's been gone I've mostly had bachelor food.

But she's coming back today!!!! :hyper:

I cook amazing stuff when properly motivated, But when it's just me, what's the point?

  5. see, when it's just me, i go off!! food rules. and nothing feels better than treating yourself to a killer healthy meal. There might not be an "I" in team, but there definitely is "meat".

  6. I LOVE to cook. Never alone though. I agree with Bard: What's the point.

My girlfriend and I have a killer agreement. She buys, I prepare, we both clean. It is PERFECT. Tonight, for example. She is buying all sorts of stuff, and I'll prepare it. We'll then sit and watch the Colts HAMMER Pittsburgh! :crying:

Oh, and regarding Thanksgiving, it was standard issue. Ate at my mom's. She did the cooking. Nothing to write home to.....well......mom, about! :)
