Which of our esteemed members would you love to see playing at their gig?
I'd love to see Wrong Robot lay down some lyrics
i really dont know, its alot of cool people here, so its kinda hard to pick one
That's true and I have actually seen several TB'ers play already - but of those I haven't - I would really like to go to New York and see some of the DBers play in a Jazz club there - like Ed Fuqua and Ray Parker amongst others - but there are others as well like Paul Warburton and Chris Fitzgerald and as soon as you start mentioning names, you realise you've probably left out too many to mention!!
also John Turner would be a hoot.
I think that would have to involve some stretching of the definition of the term...'gig'...
Seen JT gig, that was indeed a hoot!
I'd like to catch bassmonkeee in a gigging situation. I've jammed with him at a few of the Atl GTG's (yo, when is the next one???? ), and had my butt summarily handed to me.
Like Bruce said, once you start, you can't stop, and you'll eventually leave someone out....
Here's a short and unavoidably incomplete list, in no particular order:
....and so many many more that I can't think of this moment....
seeing Munji & Adrian would be cool.
i'd like to see tombowlus' band.
definitly steve lawson and michael manring...
although i haven't seen him on TB a lot anymore, i would like to see ben strange
and i'd like to see DigMe, Munji, and matt till to see if they actually play bass
Wrong Robot (wonderful breakbeat stuff and all)
Vorago (seems such a cool fellow)
Matt Till (have you heard King Bowman?)
and then Omni (can't remember Chris' username)
A group of UK TBers met up to see these two play together in London!
Hmm, maybe SMASH or Matt Till. I met Page and honestly he didn't live up to the hype.
I'd love to heckle Bruce Lindberg if I found myself in England at one of his gigs.
I have seen Dirk Diggler play that beautiful Frenz bass of his with the band Hard Logic. He has a style that not only shows influence of others, but a great deal of originality as well! AND the man does know how to dress!!!!!!!!!
John Turner, Gard , Nino, Adrian Garcia .
I hear Mikebass play about once a week at his "summer house" LDS and he is a monster. I've heard Adrian Garcia MP3's and Mike Flynn's and enjoyed both tremendously. And Motown really does have a lot of exceptional bass players that no one's heard of. So they go without saying. So here's my quick list:
Mark Latimour (Could care less how he sounds-it's Australia! )
Woodchuck (hopefully next month at the State)
Bruce Lindfield (even if he's all talk, I could still go shag some chicks after)
Munji ( have to know if he looks anything like his avatar)
Cheezewhiz (just to see if he packs heat when he plays )
Tomboulous (to see THE RIG)
lol, putting me in the same line as WB is kinda wrong...you're giving me too much credit dude.
Oh, Nonsqtr would be cool too. And all the other TPA weasels
You should see how he dresses for wedding gigs...
I was playing a wedding with our cousin a few weeks ago (Dirk's my nephew), and I didn't really have the proper formal clothes. I turned to my cousin and said: "What would Dirk do?" We got a good laugh out of it.
I'm trying to get out to see more TB'ers that are local to me. I saw 4Mal last night, and Hillbillyfunk a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to see some more of the guys in Hawaii too. Or any of youse guys in Oz. Location, location, location.
