TC Polytune..... I think it's not working??

    Hey guys. I just got a Polytune in the mail and need to check to see if I'm missing something. Either I have a faulty unit or a case of "user error".

    When I plug it in I get the start up: "B STD, 440" etc.... then nothing. The bypass works but tapping the switch doesn't mute/tune. I'm running it on a decent battery and tried it on a Boss 9V DC supply.

    Time to send it back or am I missing something obvious?

    Dumb question..you have your bass plugged directly into it, right?

    Plug it in, step on it, it should tune.

    Ha. Just called the store and he imediately said - yep, busted. Return it.

    I get the same thing if I plug in a balanced (stereo) cable, as opposed to a normal (mono) guitar cable.
