teacher in Portland, OR

    hey now,
    was wondering if anyone on here is or could recommend a good bass instructor in the Portland area? Thanks, Scott

    Any particular style? Damian Erskine is a pretty fine teacher, for one.

    I imagine he would be! Pretty great jazz chops. I wouldn't think he taught lessons

    He definitely does. Not sure how many students he can take on these days, but he's a TB member and also pretty easy to find in person doing local gigs at least a few nights most weeks. You could check out his vids or books to see if you like his teaching style. I haven't studied with him, but I've known him for several years, great guy.

    Dave Captein is another excellent player who teaches in Portland, and another really cool guy.

    I unfortunately was only able to take a few lessons with Damian, but I can highly recommend him
