I'm hoping to make use of my spring break to really kick it up a notch or two (structuring my practice time, prioritizing, etc.).

It'd be a big help if folks could suggest good teachers around Manhattan (Bergen County in NJ also works).

I know Rufus Reid teaches in Teaneck, NJ, but he's a bit out of my league. Still considering giving him a call though...

    Thanks for any help!

(BTW, I have no problem with a teacher who focuses on double bass, but I play electric)

Chuck Sher publishes my book, WALKING BASSICS:The Fundamentals of Jazz Bass Playing.
Joe Solomon, highly recommended. I'll PM you his number. Search this site for an article entitled DOING IT THE SLOW WAY.
