Hello, I was just looking at the Tech 21 website when I saw this little powered cab. Does anyone have an experience w/ it? Also, what about its price? It looks like it would be perfect for my church gig paired w/ a Sansamp Bass DI. Since I run direct out of my Carvin 160 watt w/ a 15 and the volume is on two, I think 60 would be plenty for monitoring and practice. Dirk
I'm really more concerned about the price. So if anyone has ever even seen one and knows how much it costs, I would like to know that. Thanks Dirk
I've never seen or heard it but I found a review: http://www.guitarist.co.uk/gear/gear_page.asp?ID=1610 Matthias
Dirk, If you haven't already, also check out Fender's Bassman 25. I had my eye out for a Bass Power Wedge 60 also (still haven't found a store carrying one that I could try out). I was looking for a small good sounding practice amp that could double as a monitor and perhaps handle coffee house gigs. After hearing lots of positive reviews of the Bassman 25, I thought I'd check it out. I bought it on the spot. Turns out it far exceeded my expecations. Nice fat sound, great lows (for a single 10), handles the B on my Cirrus fiver without any problem. I wish the line out was an XLR, but I have a SansAmp that I can DI out from. - Frank
I took some advice from one of the replies and emailed the company. The list price on the Bass Power Wedge is 445 US$. The representative from the company said that many stores hadn't picked up the Wedge yet because of the relative newness of the product. I'd like to try one but it will be awhile before I covert to this rig but it looks like the best option for a light monitoring/small gig/practice set-up. As for the Fender Bass-man 25, I'm not sure on the specs of this combo, but it's bigger brother the Bassman 60 has the same amount of power as the Tech 21 Bass Power Wedge, but it weighs 50 pounds. That's about as much as my Carvin. Now the hard part will be finding one to try out. Dirk
I'm interested in this amp as well... I'd like to hook it up with my SVT-3 Pro as a monitor cab. I also have a PSA-1 and it should be an easy and nice combo...
I am more interested in the new Landmark 60. It has the same cabdesign and poweramp as the Power Wedge 60, but with the Sansamp RBI as a preamp. Very interesting! To Phyrexian: Ik denk eraan om mijn Ampeg 210HE te verkopen. Heb je interesse? Laat me maar iets weten... [email protected]
I've had one since the first of the year, and am very impressed. Plenty loud for a practice amp, and great for small gigs. It has a DI, so you can feed the board or a poweramp. The rockback design is great, and the tone is fantastic - typical SansAmp sound.
I'm in a rock-hardrockband... do you think it would still be loud enough? We don't play unreasonably loud anyway... I just went to The Beat Shop here in Antwerp: over here it costs about 690. A reasonable price?
