    Yeah, Tim makes everything sound great. That aside, as I've gotten more comfortable with the unit I can start from scratch and get a sound quickly that works and sounds great.

    Is there any "baked-in" compression on this one? As it stands, this is probably the best thing going as the resident pedal pre on your board. I use an "original" (~30 years old) and assume the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

    Compression is a byproduct of the tube amp emulation. Tube amps exhibit the same behavior. The difference being, a non master volume amp like an SVT will compress very gradually at the onset of clipping. Because the compression and distortion characteristics of an amp like that is dependent on the volume of the amp (which is quite substantial) most will never drive the amp that hard.
