  1. Has anyone tried on of these? The sound samples are promising, but can it deliver more than just a little grind?
I kinda like the idea of 3 separate od/dist FX in one unit.

yeah, it's a cool unit. Works very well on both bass and guitar.
And yes, it can do both mild and wild distortion.

ditto, best I've ever heard going straight to a board as well.
  4. Tried one at practise last night, and lordy lordy! Love the sound!
I've gotta A/B it to my MXR and RAT2 tonight and see how it stacks up. If I manage to wake up i'll post a review/comparison.
  5. Nice, nice. This pedal sounds the business, IMHO. For once I could run the EQ on my amp relatively flat and get some really nice tone.

Tweed setting gives a very believable SVT sound...British (Marshall) setting gives a good Rat distortion...Mesa setting gives a great Bassman tone. Popping in my Rat2 pedal in front pushed the Tri-AC nicely, responding very much like a true tube amp.

The only downside is that the EQ is a little bass-unfriendly (125Hz, 800Hz, 3Khz) but kinda works with my Ric. I needed to run a little EQ on the amp to compensate, but she was all good.

And yes, killer direct recording tone!

At the end of the day, nothing will compare to the sound of an all-tube amp (for me), but this puppy gives me 90% of the sound without all the weight.
