I heard the Tech21 4x10 (400w) against and eden 4x10xst (I think) and I preferred the tech21. the tech had a wider range of midrange tones. the eden had lows and highs not much mids. sure the eden has more total handling (1000w) and a tweeter, but the tech21 got some serious lows used with the tech21 landmark 300. NO I'M NOT A DEALER. I have an RBI, but I was impressed with the tech21 cab. I thought I wouldn't like it, but I did.

If I was shopping for a 410 I'd seriously consider the tech21 especially with the landmark series amps from tech21 I'M NOT A DEALER OR REP!

    its also only 70LBS!!

does this have a tweeter? would this compliment nicely with an avatar 2x10? and are they often found used?

Mind you I heard the tech21 410 with RBI or landmarks as pre's. they both have active eq's there is no tweeter on the tech21. I don't know if a passive eq would give enough mid or treble boost to make the tech21 410 come alive in the mids or highs. I have an RBI so I think I would be o.k. to try and get a bright enough midrange with it, but with a passive eq like an SWR (my head) I don't know if you could get it to cut through. I've never heard an avatar.

Try the tech21 with your amp/head/pre if you can I think it would be worth the trouble.

From what I've heard eden and ampeg have the "heaviest" sounds. I'd call edens sound almost a subwoofer type sound, but just like I mentioned the tech21 it could sound almost the same as the edens lows, but with a wider midrange and not quite as much treble, but the eden was mostly superlow+Lows+lomids+treble, tech21 was lows, lowmids, mids, uppermids, some treble. for "cutting through" a live situation a sound engineer told me you need real mids NOT treble. I liked the mids on the tech21 I liked the whole sound, but you may need an active eq like the tech21 landmark to get it out of there or else it might be too dark for some. we had the mids on the rbi almost cranked and it was mids, but not really loud mids, but enough, I think to cut through. the 4x10 tech21 is only 70LBS, 400w, so if you need alot of volume you might need to, but THE MIDS! WOW! not twangy mids like some amps, but nice mids like you hear on recordings just the right balance of low, mid, treble!
