Y'know when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, you get a window with a list of running programs and the option to end tasks? I was wondering if there's a way to find out what each one of those open applications does to determine if it needs to be active or not. I think a lot of my system resources are being used by unnecessary applications.

Pretty basic, I know. Thanks for any help.
  2. try googling for it on www.google.com, some times if that stuffs is adware or spyware, google will give you something back. :)

There's a program you can get from cnet called Startup Cop that's pretty useful. It's kind of a GUI interface for your system tray and registry where you can tell it what programs you want to run at startup and what you don't wanna run.
