Hey people of the bassist website. I need assistance in working out what I should do as my fourth song in my HSC (Higher School Certificate) music practical exam. I already have three songs: YYZ - Rush: took me a few weeks to get down pat but got me a 20/20 in a recent exam. Aeroplane - RHCP: was very easy to learn, added an improvised bass solo after the bridge of the song and ended there. Also got me 20/20. Anesthesia - Cliff Burton/Robert Trujillo - Solo medley: took me months to learn Anesthesia, did about the first minute of the slow part, a minute of the fast part with drums, and a minute of a Robert Trujillo solo. This also got me 20/20 I need one more technical bass song that could get me a 20/20 in a practical music exam. Any suggestions?
Why not something different than the other 3? Something like a Jaco, Marcus or Stanley Clarke tune. Some difficult jazz.
Dream Theater Metropolis Part 1, doable on a 4 strings bass since it was recorded with one. Or something from this album
