A SIX stringer with a purty quilted redwood top. Even with them dern lines...I wonder what kinda' piezo's in that thing? Seems awful wide for a "regular" Fishman Matrix. At Bass Alone... {}
there are some samples on his site (takes a while to load) - http://roballenguitars.com/audio.html I ain't sure, but I think this is from an album Rob put out called "mysterious measures". (again guessing) it has him with one of his baritones and...??? on an R/A bass - http://www.chacramusic.com/realaudio/mysterious/cynthia.ram I'm pretty sure both audio samples are basses set-up with LaBella tapewounds - not Roto tapes (much nicer IMO), or... T/I Acousticores. Totally different tone (totally). Fortunately, Ah...uhh...Ah keep mah feathas numbered for...for just such an uh-ccasion
Wow, another rob allen custom, you must really like those basses. Tell me, do you think they used the curling iron for that one?
`tain't mine. I'm just sayin' is all . I DO like `em a bunch...the tone, simplistic design, and the stoopid playability and lightness work well with my mangled mitts. Yarrgh, not what you'd call a "manly" bass .
I like that one better. Speaks to me. Maybe when money grows on trees...sheesh. So many basses, so little money.
so, notduane, you gonna get it? hmm? hmm? be a man! stand up for your rights!!! flex your credit muscle!!! BUY BUY BUY!!!
lmao hmm...Mongo is intrigued. But what to do with two extra strings? . Credit? What credit? My two cards won't speak to me after what I did to `em with the doubleneck. Actually, I spoke to Rob about another "custom" project. So. Soon as I get a job that pays market rate or the tooth fairy returns my calls - whichever come first - it'll be time to put some more tree huggers outta' work.
