Hope I look and perform that well at 65 myself but I seriously doubt it...LOL
Gary Clark Jr.'s bass player is also into Telecaster basses. Spotted a white or Mary Kaye blond with a gold anodised guard before the Stanley Cup. Good shot at 0:55.
FWIW ,here’s what the “bible” says about tele bass logos. Yours definitely has a non standard type logo application. Maybe it was put together for a NAM show.
I just discovered the Harley Benton PB-50 SB Vintage, and despite saying that I'd probably never own a Tele bass, at under a hundred quid it may well feature in my future. It's a shame that they only give the choice of sunburst or red (which looks "cheap," to me at least) but at that price...
Many PB 50 owners respray. Seems a popular colour is sea foam green.
I have the middle on and one of the later logs too. I had a proto-1967 for a while, but I sold it to someone even more obsessed than I am
Original '53 on an Ampeg (new video from a few days ago):
Wow, can't believe how clean that thing is. As for the sound? Um yep, it's a P bass with rounds
Another ‘51. I wanted something classy.
I like the lollipops and large logo on the one in the middle.
The ‘54 is one on my lightest basses.
I actually really love the sound of those single coil pickups in Tele Bases, the feel of the neck considerably less though.
Well the new Nordstrand, new cts pots, an orange Sprague cap(.033) and new strings did the trick. Sounded great today.
This is my MBasses 55' P-Bass in Firemist Gold and matching headstock with a Brazilian board and it rocks !! It's passive now, but a preamp can be added.. Pickups are Nordstrand... And it sports flats right now..
When I built this pine slab end of last year I stained it blue. The stain was way too strong so this week I started sanding,40 grit to 320. 3 coats of wax to finish.
I'd put together a solder-less wiring loom and after various singles it now sports a Bloodstone 51 staggered pole with
TI jazz flats . Loom is the old 0.1Uf cap with the resistor set up.
Those are great sir. How'd it turn out? Any band mate or audience reactions?
i got this guy on the way
17 pages and still going...
Here's my "semi Telecaster" -
Love the thing to death. I recently subbed in a legitimate Springsteen tribute act with this one and they dubbed it the Magic Rat. I agree!
