JMX, what are you using the Power Amp for? I mainly use it to give my mids and highs a little bit of overdrive (just a little little little bit) á la John Myung (don´t ask my why, but I just love his sound).
What do you mean ?!? It's just that I a separate preamp and poweramp (rackmount). My setup is solid-state only btw. I like a clean signal.
JMX, what I meant was this setup: 2 Outputs; 1 goes into the bass amp, 1 into the power amp. Then I simply cut a bit of highs and lows on the poweramp and boost the mids. This gives me a very agressive sounding midrange. The rest (highs and lows) is going thru the amp. Power Amp = Clean Sounding ?!?! I never heard that, seriously. David
