Tell me what you think. New Gear.

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by martarmetal, Aug 2, 2012.

  1. So I would like to start some home recording, Im pretty new to the whole self-recording world. I have an iMAC computer with GarageBand. I just ordered the Line 6 UX2 and the MXL 440/441 microphone kit. What are your suggestions or comments about my gear so far? Good/Bad/Ect. Any help would be appreciated. Im planning on getting more gear in the near future but i wanted to start with the basics.
  2. I also got Behringer MS40 studio monitors. I know they arent the best but its better than nothing.

The line 6 comes with Pod Farm, which is a very good modeling package.
It's a fine interface. You're on the right track.
Get some headphones instead of new monitors.

I'd get a Shure SM57 mic as well. They're cheap, bulletproof, and incredibly versatile. Definitely a must have for any beginner studio, in my opinion.
