it was this past week that i got my first 7 string bass, ten years ago, from bill conklin. this one... one of the most important turning points in my playing career. i had been playing for about 8 or 9 years at the time, and i felt really stagnant, really sorta trapped, on my 4 strings, so much so that i was considering quitting. this was my last hurrah - if the 7 that i got turned out to be not for me, i was probably going to sell all my gear and give it up, or so i thought at the time. thankfully, that didnt' happen anway, just thought i'd share with all you folks.
