tension and twang

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by John K., Mar 26, 2002.

  1. this is probably a dumb question, but i want strings with a more twangy, slinky-ish sound, but i dont want to give up my strings i have right now (ernieball regulars 50-105). the guages seem to be perfect for me. problem is, i want strings with more slink and twang. am i dreaming, or is the perfect set out there? thanks.

Could be your tone (eq, amp, bass). I say mess around with what you have. You may be suprised.

    ...or perhaps a new set...

  4. the ones i have on right now are only 1 week old

  5. Describe to me your whole setup. It might not be the strings' fault you aren't getting the tone you like. Then maybe I (and the more intelligent and experienced users on talkbass) could help you.
