    I know it's a Hofner, and I've been told it's short scale.

How many frets does it have? I can't quite count them out when pausing my Tivo.

And is it called "short" because of the string length on ALL the strings - or just that the E string is so much longer on a long scale?

In other words, tell me what you know about Hofner short scale basses, the people who play them and how they work. It's not so much the sound I"m trying to understand as the specifications - but I'm timid about posting on the "bass" part of the board. I'm probably just being silly - obviously, I'm a n00b at describing bass specs.

Here's a shot of my Hofner, count away.
    The scale length(distance from nut to octave[12th] fret X 2) is 30", making it a short-scale bass. A full-scale bass is 34".
