Howdy from Houston. Welcome back. And Howdy from Houston.
Oh, geez, I've been here on TB for a while and I've never gotten around to it... I guess I should get a # as well.
The last few months have been rough; stay safe everyone.
For our new members, welcome:
#230- Dark Horse
Howdy to all of our members, old and new!
New bassist from Ft Worth.
Let me know if you have any recommendations for instructors in FTW, thanks. Looking for formally trained musicians who will teach sight-reading and theory as well as technique and repertoire. All styles and genres, not just pop/rock.
What if I play in Texas but live in Oklahoma, does that get me in or shot on sight?
An okie is better than most of what is floating around Austin these days
I'd have to agree lol
Hi, and welcome:
We tend ta get along with anyone who wants ta come play here.
I'm not a Texas bass player, but when I was a young man back in the 80's I played all over Texas (in bands based out of Denver and Albuquerque). I recall gigs in Midland-Odessa, San Angelo, Big Spring, Wichita Falls, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Beaumont, Tyler, Harlingen, etc. Used to play all the Cardi's clubs. Great memories. Now my son has married into a Texas family, lives in Houston, and plans to settle in Austin. Which means I'll probably retire there too. Anyway, just stopping by to say hi, or uh, howdy.
Hi, I've been going back through the posts and wanted to check: did you still want a club number? Playing bass in Texas can qualify.
... wow , completely forgot about this thread ...
i'm Texas Bassist # 9 , January 2008 .
This club has grown quite a bit since then.
I had to look back to see what number I was. (84)
If (when)it's "safe" again we should probably do another Houston (gulf coast?) get together.
It's been ten years!
Sure I qualify my daughter
And granddaughter are there also
New club number added:
I’m in Pennsylvania and there is a bass for sale on CL in Sugarland.
The seller just doesn’t want to ship it.
Anybody interested in being an intermediary?
