Hahahaha, you knew what was gonna happen
Texas Jackalope in my ear warned me.
How is everyone doing? Are venues opening back up, and gigs happening, where you are?
I've seen a number of online concerts, and went to a drive-in concert a couple of weeks ago (Austin is as creative as it's weird).
I mainly play at church, and we started having live worship a few months ago.
We're booked two to three shows a month thru end of summer. Most live venues
are either inside or outside stages and booking furiously. Bands are coming out of
the woodworks. Mine started summer '19 then shut down March last year. Houston
full lockdown. Three of us caught Covid so we took it seriously and waited to resume
this January. 9/10 of the action is outside the city which is still on life support from
the economic restrictions. Gub'ment money is still flowing. I'm not even bothering to
run sound gigs at this point. I'm sure the next shoe drop is just around the corner.
They're not done with us yet lol.
It finally looks like it a little bit. I noticed HOB Dallas promoting some upcoming shows as well as smaller bars and venues so I think we're on track to get things back to normal this year.
We've had 3 gigs around D/FW in the last month and a half.
Yesterday at local restaurant oyster bar on Galveston Bay.
Lots of shows available long as you can stand the heat.
Which, around here, is already getting pretty nasty, but y'all look like you're having fun.
What bass is that you're playing?
Well it was an overcast day. But close to the coast, high humidity. Hauling and setting up full PA at 2 p.m. I am self proclaimed, The Exalted Lord Of Sweaters. And no, I'm not floating backwards, optical illusion.
Modulus Quantum 5.
Everyone Notice the Texas Staple!!! Built in FANs!!!! They stay in Texas bassist/musicians cars from March-October!!! LOL!!!
It's beautiful. Nice axe!
Thanks. '98. Been my daily driver for years then I switch to an SR5 which I'm very used to playing. Entirely different feel. The modulus has a flatter neck and more growl. Getting the feel of it again.
Hey, I'm from Texas and I play bass! Didn't know y'all had a special place over here.
Bout time ya showed up…
Glad you could find us! Here is your number:
Just tumbled/stumbled/rumbled into this and would love to join!

Here you go! Welcome!
Two weeks ago at Six Springs Tavern in Richardson. Of course the photographer caught me looking at the tablet !
