Had my Astros hat on the gig this past Friday in Houston, TX. AND... my employer canceled work on Monday so that everyone can celebrate the Astros win!!!
How's everyone doing in warm sunny Tejas ?! Ya'll got Chrismas gigs lined up? Personally I'm glad we're going thru a new frontman changeout and I can devote time to staying warm and cuddle with the wifey.
Warm sunny 15 degrees in Fort Worth this morning lol. I was at DFW airport last night (11 degrees + wind chill) picking my kid up and people getting off their flights were in shorts and t-shirts... Welcome to Texas!
Can't imagine being out in that last night. glad your peoples' flight wasn't cancelled as lot's of that going around. We complain when we don't get snow for Christmas, then He gives us this. ...right. Enjoy time with the fam. Most important part of the Holidays.
I was not born here but I got here as fast as I could. Like most Texans I'm all hat and no horse. None of our heroes, Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, etc were born elsewhere. John Wayne is from Indiana or ill noise. Roy Rogers from Cincinnati Ohio. How come the best of Nashville is from Texas?
Happy to stay indoors and practice more today! I’ll get out to check faucets but that’ll likely be it. I was out some yesterday, and my nose & throat put me on warning.
RE your attachment, Brutal. I did a gig outdoors in Johnson City. Some Biker event so we did not want to disappoint. It was spitting snow as we were playing. Brr.
Helpful hint: I practiced with fingerless gloves[1][2] the other night and they worked great. I plan to use them for tomorrow evening’s Christmas eve service, at least during rehearsal since the doors will be open for hauling stuff in and setting things up. [1] I used cycling gloves. I was concerned the gel palm pads might be a problem but they weren’t in the least. Driving gloves or any gloves with the ends of the fingers cut off from about the largest knuckles should work. YMMV. If you cut up gloves for this and regret it later, don’t blame me! [2] I got the idea from the guy who does Scott’s Bass Lessons on FB. He uses gloves for medical reasons.
