A bit ago, Jim was kind enough to ask me to be recognized on the website as a Bergantino artist, and I was flattered and pleased to do so. I am now up on their FaceBook site. They have both a pic of my ugly mug next to my B|Amp and HDN stack, and they also have up another pic of my Sadowsky fretless. Thanks, Jim, for doing this, and for making what I consider to be the best bass gear in the world! I am trying like crazy to wear this stuff out, and I just can’t do it! Bergantino Audio Systems
Some of us mention him when we say our prayers at night. Seriously. Some manufacturers are making their gear because they want it done right. It is obvious that it's not for profit alone. They get to eat, pay their employees, and contribute through taxes etc. Yet when you play their gear it's like they have to do it. They are old world craftsman that offer impeccable customer service. They want to know what works and doesn't. In some ways a large held corporation can't do this. These makers have given me the tools that sound phenomenal, that get out of my way, with pro features and reliability. Thanks Jim.
I’m not too familiar with his equipment but I dig threads like this, and the impetus for them. Bravo! Raz
As chadds said, there are just some people in the music business who are making gear, yes to make a profit, but also because of sheer love of music and the desire to bring the tools necessary to people making the music. When Jim responds to people on a Saturday night, when he goes through a hundred versions of an overdrive setting or a compressor because it’s almost but not quite right, that’s more than a person worrying solely about dollars and cents. We who benefit from that drive just need to tip our hat and recognize it.
Yep. Agree 100 puh-cent! I've been using his gear since I was 1st shown a NV610 and I compared it to my Ampeg SVT410HLF - it sounded like a wet blanket had been lifted off my tone. 10 cabs later I've still got the NV215 I bought new bank in about 08... maybe earlier. .. can't recall positively.... plus the B|Amp. I've been thru many other Berg cabs too...never met a bad one! Oh, & congrats! !
I could write a loooong post about my dealings with Jim but I’ll just truncate to say Jim is the man. Congrats Kevin.
Congrats to you, kjones! Much respect and love for Jim - He makes lightweight 12" cabinets that are easily moved by old geezers like me, and their sound rules the world! I had the HT/EX ministack for years, and am now on a pair of CN-112's. Odds of me NOT playing Bergantino cabs are zero point zero.
Very cool, congrats! I've been using Berg cabinets almost exclusively since about '03 because Jim consistently makes great products.
+100 to all of the above. My CN212 and NV610 are just spectacularly great cabs that make any amp sound its best. congrats kjones on the Bergantino artist thing
I have a CN112 and NV115 and I had some issues with the NV when I got it. I was truly amazed at the level of attention and service I received from Jim. He emailed me promptly and directly and bent over backwards to fix what turned out to be a very minor problem. But he made me feel like I was very important to him. That and I love his gear.
It wouldn't have anything to do with the 10,000+ iterations of distortion I sent you in the course of 15 minutes, would it? ;-}
Yes indeed, Jim has done me a solid more then once when I needed something. I really don't want to play any other cabs these days either.
