I'm getting back into playing after a long hiatus and have been feeling like the Corvette that I happened upon by chance a few years back (long story) isn't the right bass for me. So I've been lurking here, and seeing a lot of Squier love.

So this weekend I headed over to GC and knocked about with a few Fenders - standards and deluxe. Not impressed considering the price. Tonight, picked up a Squier CV p-bass and am loving it. Eyes closed, can't tell the difference between this and the $1200 Deluxe I played this weekend. I have another squier in my sights, a vintage modified jazz for $175. I guess I could hang onto the Corvette too, this would be a pretty sweet quiver.

Anyway, glad I started lurking here, you guys saved me a grand :)

Lots of Squier chatter around here. Some of it's even true. ;) Just kidding - I bought three last year. SAS - Squier Acquisition Syndrome. :D Congrats, but pics are a definite requirement!

When I play my CV jazz and then look at the receipt for how much I paid ($300), I just can't reconcile the two. Had I paid $900, the whole thing would make more sense.

    Congrats on the P.

I played one of those and they're very nice indeed.
