Thanks Guitar Center

A month or so ago I bought a MIM fretless jazz bass from guitar center. I just couldn't get it to mwah and admit to becoming less than enchanted over the intonation issues. Playing Bach Sonata in G was a real problem for me. I go to Guitar Center tell them my problem, but that I was about a month past their published satisfaction guarantee and the saleman said bring in my bass back in when the manager was there and they'd try to work something out. I brought it back and they gave me full credit on a MIA Standard Fretted Jazz which I am very happy with. Great neck, smoother frets, and very hi fi sounding pickups. As far as I'm concerned they are a very stand up outfit! Now while I don't want to start a flame, the MIM was good for the price the MIA is also good for its price. I know I spent twice as much and agrueably it may not be twice as good as bass but I'm twice as happy!

Hmmm...interesting! Glad to hear that you're much happier!

I bought my MIM Jazz in February from GC and thought it'd cut it as a "knock-around" so I wouldn't have to carry the Spector around to screw-off. Unfortunately, it just didn't cut it. So, I took it into a local repair shop to replace the pickups and bridge. They're fixing things like high frets, etc under the Fender Warranty.

They did mention to me that, in their experience as an authorized Fender repair shop, MIM necks are every bit as good as MIA necks, which I found interesting. The hardware and electronics, on the other hand??? The body wood???

Anyway, glad you're happy. Hopefully I'll be happy when I've spent as much money on my MIM's upgrades as you spent on your MIA
