I thought for sure you were talking about Anthony Keidas.

  5. Best singer.?
Maynard James Keenan from Tool , everything from melancholy to rage...... he's an awesome singer. If you've never heard him check out Tool or a Perfect circle.

I heard him "sing" live - world's apart compared to the records.
He talked/rapped more than he sang.

Now Devin Townshend - THAT'S a cool singer. He can cover everything from 'beautiful' to 'death-metal' - and he can do it live without a net.

  7. Brad N. - Sublime

Jerry Cantrell - Alice in Chains (better voice than Layne IMO, although he has a good voice too)

    Billie Joe Armstrong- Greenday

The guy from Staind - can't remember his name at the moment.

They guy from Dream Theater - can't remember his name either.

  11. Brandon Boyd - Incubus
    Sting - Police & solo
Anthony Keidis - RCHP (NOT live!) :D
    Roger Daltrey - The Who

    Brandon Boyd
    Cheeno Moreno
    Jim Morisson
Kurt Cobain( when he wanted to...)
    Ozzy with Black Sabbath
    James Keenan
    Ian Curtis
    Zack de la Rocha

    they are my favs

  13. I think the guy that beats all of these people is Serj Tankian from System Of A Down. I mean, he can do everything. But vocals aren't a very important part of music anyway, so I tend not to concentrate on them. Too much emphasis is placed on the vocals in music, IMO, and most shallow people I know judge a song solely by the vocals. Hell, most pop and Rap is ALL vocals, which is IMO why they are the worst forms of music on earth.

Some of my fave singers at the moment:

    Mike Patton
Iarla O'Lionaird of Afro Celt Sound System ...WOW...
Peter Gabriel (I've been re-discovering US)
    Jill Scott

  15. Yeah, It was Ian Gillian.

David Coverdale only sang on a couple Deep Purple albums. Ian Gillian was in the band before Coverdale and after. Although Deep Purple's had a few lead singers, most of their hits were sung by Gillian like Smoke On the Water, Space Trucking and Perfect Strangers. Gillian also recorded Born Again with Black Sabbath...eeeevillll.:)

  16. James Hetfield has an awesome voice live, Maynard James Keenan has a wicked one too. But Matt Good can really sing. I downloaded a really crappy bootleg live version of a song, and when he did the high pitched part, it still rung my ears.

    -Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
-James Maynard (Tool - Perfect circle)
-Chris Cornell (Soundgarden - New RATM)

and one of my favorite underrated male singers is:

-Jon Crosby (VAST), he´s amazing... he also writes and plays all instruments.

if you can, look for the mp3 "Flames" out of his first album (which i have). you'll see what i mean.

    :)

Yeah, I know this girl that said that Primus sucked because she didn´t like Les´ voice and then I said that she should try to listen to the music and then she said that instrumental music sucked, just because it doesn´t have vocals..
but..a short list of great singers
    -Matthew Bellamy (Muse)
    -Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
-Serj Tankian (System of a Down)
    -Nick Hexum (311)
