That pedal you cant kick off your board

Like others here have already said, Tonehammer, it even kicked out the rusty box.
But i see it more as an amp/preamp, so let's see... has to be the H9 then. I have two and use them for pretty much everything, overdrive, fuzz, pitch, delay, reverb, chorus, eq and so on. Not perfect, but does enough things great that i just can't leave without.

It's really two, but they've been side by side on most every gigging board I've had for the last 15 years or so.
First is my Sansamp BDDI original version, the one with only one slide switch (later ones had 3). The second one might surprise some but its an MXR M80 Bass DI+. Like the Bass Driver, I got this one shortly after they were released. I've found that between the two of them I can cover a lot of sounds without taking up a lot of board space. Many pedals have come and gone but these two are survivors.
And they are connected with one of those straight pedal crank thingies so whenever one gets moved the other goes with it.

I have 3 choruses on my board. One hardwire chorus and one roland stereo chorus and one roland bass chorus. Oddly running all 3 at same time gives a weird crystal clear tone. Strange how they play off each other
I would have to say my Germanium Malekko B:ASSMASTER Fuzz. It is super versatile and can be tamed very easily and exactly the opposite if you wanted. It was my first pedal and hasn't left my board since.
I have a runner up contender though because I recently got a Fuzzrocious Lunar Eclipse and I never turn that thing off. A lot of tonal options but they all sound awesome.

Obviously I love it because I put it on this list, but honestly I think it's because of the X-Blender. I don't run multi-amps so I don't run clean and dirt. With that I don't necessarily care for drive/distortion without being able to get a clean signal back on top. It's actually kind of nice having the X-Blender because right now the drive is at 50% gain, but the blend is sitting at 75% dry so I get just a nice little taste of the drive with my clean signal.
I guess if I could only keep one off my current board it would definitely be my Zoom B3. Extremely versatile, and the dirt honestly isn't bad.

I get you. I use a Boss LS-2 for my clean blend with dirt and it works well for me. But if I could only keep one non utility fx pedal it would still be my Bass Clone. That said I really like the way BFD sounds (on the vids I've listened to) and feel it would work well on my modest board.

This is what I am currently using for effects.
1 - First I run into an equalizer
2 - Then I split the signal into 4 parallel signals with a rolls mixer.
3 - I run one of the parallel lines into the Line6 bass pod where I model an acoustic 360 with a rat or big muff distortion pedal. I use this to get a retro growlly distorted sound. Or I also model an Ampeg fliptop with the Rat Distortion pedal. And I also Model an old Marshall amp. With the bass pod I can get a wide range of clean or dirty sounds and various effects and model different amps and speaker cabinets.
4 - The second parallel signal goes into a MXR bass di+. I use this pedal to get a clean modern sound. It also has a distortion button that can give a moderate to extreme amount of modern distortion.
5 - The third parallel signal goes into a Marshall Guv'nor. This gives me an old 60s marshall stack sound. This can go from a small amount of distortion to an over the top marshall sound. This effect can give you a the classic Jack Bruce Cream tone.
6 - The fourth parallel signal goes into a Tech21 VT Bass pedal. With this effect I get a slightly dirty Ampeg SVT bass amp sound with a tube like growl.
7 - Then I remix the 4 signals back together and run it into a bass amp, or pa, or studio mixer. Because the signals are parallel I can mix clean and overdriven sounds together and still get effect and a sound that punches through the mix.

Seriously, though. It's just that good but I'm always searching for something better. The Nuñex Annex Drive is slowly filling that need for something just as good or better but alas they pair so well together that I don't even care anymore- I'm spoiled AF!!

A T.Rex Bass Juice is the pedal I can't kick off my board no matter how many times I've tried. Yes, there's a ton of awful, terrible sounds you can get out of it when you crank the gain. But when you set it juuuust right, it does a killer job of faking the tone my Acoustic 370 produces when I crank that amp way up into distortion. It's a beautiful thing since I don't get to turn any of my amps up loud enough to get that awesome sound on gigs. The blend knob set about 3/4ths clean keeps the bass authoritative in the mix. I may only use this pedal for 2 or 3 songs in a three hour set, but it just works so damn good when I want that sound.
