Here is my dingwall ab1. It should be in my hands next week. :-D

I started off wanting an ab2 (walnut body and semihollowbody) But when i got my yellow ab1 i knew i needed another ab1 for the simplicity… and beauty of the shape.

After some tough decisions on colour… i decided to go custom Porsche Lizard Green. They used this colour on their 911 gt3rs.. and the original circa 1973 911 rs cars. It has more of a cool green than the dingwall ferarri green.

Subtle detail but i love it!

    - 6 string ab1
    - x3 fd3 pickups
    - darkglass preamp (love the mids focused controls)
    - low f# tuning
    - wenge/wenge neck
    - walnut body
    - green luminlay front dots, side dots, and headstock D
    - custom Porsche lizard green

Ironically for colour… i struggled between a bright turquoise blue… and green. Dingwall just released the ng in celestial blue… which was about identical to what i almost ordered.

Anyway… i sm quite excited to get it next week. It was cool to get a sneak peak as dingwall was using it for social media marketing… and shared a teaser photo of it on monday and the full shots thursday.

  2. Yep! I'm familiar with that color!

Pretty sure RUF (a tuner for Porsche) has used a similar color as well.

    I like it!

I think you are correct. They released their modern carbon fibre bodied air cooled models in that colour also i think.

Love the bass, especially the colour.
They did. I had a very wealthy mate aeons ago who had the 930 drivetrain shipped to them, modified and reinstalled locally whilst it was being pained that colour.

You probably won’t bump in to it and knock it over on a dark stage…..

All the dots and logo are glow in the dark.
  9. Killer bass! I’m a Porsche fanatic and when the (992) 911 was launched people were excited about the python green color that was available. It’s identical to the GT3 RS in that pic and it’s a glorious shade of green. My first 911 was a 2014 Carrera S and I miss that car every day and I hope to get another when the 992.2 is available.

i love that people appreciate the nerdiness if the colour choice. There are a number of very similar porsche colour choices. One dates back to the early 70’s rs.

100%. I took an 84, stripped it out and turned it into a track ready gt3 rs if they made one in 84. 290hp and 2300lbs wet. All natural aspiration. Stock redline. Torque! (70’s iroc bumpers and duck tail)

my original build was to match my car. Champaign metallic with off gold stripes… wenge neck for the chocolate brown interior…. And a custom tartan strap to match the interior.

but the car may soon go wide body and lizard green.
