It's about time for The Moody Blues. They never got the credit for innovation they deserve.
Also happy to see Dire Straits on the list.

I habe no idea who Nina Simone is. I'm sure she deserves to be there.

But the rest I'm really happy about. Congrats to all of them. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time stressiing over who didn't make it in this time. The greats will get in eventually.

I am very happy Rosetta Tharpe is to be inducted. That woman invented rock n' roll.

Here’s my annual “It ain’t the R&R HOF until Todd Rundgren is invited...Detroit Junior, too!”
...well...’rant’ is too strong a word...
    how ‘bout ‘observation’?

Really happy over the Moody Blues...L O N G after they were due.

I’m gonna go home and play along with John Illsey tonight!
    Prolly Making Movies...

    More girl power!
Nina Simone is a genius...on the same page as Ray Charles and Etta James. Jazzier, greater range, more adventurous...a monster!
The good Sister should have gone in with Hank Williams...That’s how ‘roots’ she was.

The R&R HOF does little else but frustrate me.
It IS, however, a great day out!

If I really cared I’d be very pleased that Moody Blues made it.

I think this year inductee list is good and some of these acts are well overdue.

My personal, should have been in long ago, list includes:

    The Guess Who
    Three Dog Night
    Grand Funk Railroad
    Tommy James & The Shondells
    Paul Revere & The Raiders
    Bad Company
    Jethro Tull
    Emerson, Lake, & Palmer
    King Crimson
    Judas Priest
    The J. Geils Band
    Pat Benatar
    Hermans Hermits
    Bryan Adams

Rock and roll is indebted to all earlier genres (jazz, blues, soul, etc.) for their influence and the induction attempts to recognize artists from those genres. Nina Simone was an outstanding jazz and blues pianist and vocalist who is quite deserving in recognition. As an outspoken civil rights activist and feminist, I'm guessing that the committee saw her as embodying "the spirit of rock and roll", to paraphrase Ice Cube.
Those wanting to know more might want to check out the biographical film What Happened, Miss Simone?

Criminal that MC5, The Meters, King Crimson & Link Wray haven't been inducted yet.

Even though I think Radiohead deserves to be inducted as well, for influencing a ton of modern music and innovating pretty much every album, there's no way they'd ever accept the award or care at all that they had been nominated.

Not having Bon Jovi invited would be like not inviting a QB with great stats and three SBs to the football hall of fame. Sure he didn't innovate the forward pass but winning has to count for something.....
