IMG_0531.JPG Growing up as I did in Memphis most of this towns heavy hitter bass players used 361 rigs ... this was not an Ampeg town and Rickenbacker 4001s in black we're the weapons of choice. Major influence on me for sure ... yes I'm a Sunn guy too

    Very interesting driver:

Pretty sure this is what I was using in the mid 70’s in a pair of bass cabs I home-built. Ran it with an early Galien-Krueger 400b. It actually replaced a 370/Cerwin Vega 18” rig I’d run a while.
In my youth I was always searching for a ‘sound in my head’, that felt like it was a moving target.
Turns out I just needed to own more different amps lol.

Is the 140 giving you enough volume with this amazing looking cab?

IMG_0831.JPG That was an outside gig ... I was the only one on stage running with no mic or DI, for my needs it's stupid loud. It's an 8ohm cab so the 140 is at about 70 watts, yes it lapses in to OD when pushed but that's part of my sound on other amps I have to use pedals for that.

I run my 370 thru Sunn -18VH. A marriage made in ear candy heaven

Yep. It’s not simply watts that get the job done. A proper match between amp, driver(s) AND cab design can amaze. Efficiency is power! Acoustic Control Corp had it right from the start.

Haven’t seen you for a while. Yours is a name I’ve come to associate with knowledge about ACC as I’ve found you everywhere my Acoustic searches have taken me  ... and I’ve spent a LOT of hours

Nice collection. Do you ever use the reverb with bass on your 150's?

I got an acoustic b100mkII . I'm using the effects loop(out) to thethe input on a crate bt100 to try n keep up with the band. Seems to do the job but I'm looking for suggestions n wondering if I'll tear something up. Also on tight budget, that's why I go this route.

Doesn’t sound dangerous the way you’ve described it. My only suggestion would be to try going from the Acoustic’s effect send into the Crate’s effect return, instead of normal instrument input, if it has one and you haven’t tried that already.
Otherwise carry on. Shouldn’t hurt anything.
