Hey Acoustic combo owners! Want another cool place to show off your gear? Bring those cool pics and come on over to the Combo Club to become a lifetime member for the low price of "free." We're 19 members short of a hundred, and have one or two Acoustic combo amps being represented. Come on over, take a look at hte place, and if interested, post an image and receive a number. Thanks!

  2. Does it include GC Acoustic Combo?

If so count me IN and # please?

Yes @iagtrplyr ’s offer (The Combo (amp) Club) includes ALL combo amps and they’re a great fun bunch. I’m involved over there, as well.

140 head and 126 combo I’m restoring. I’ve got a thread nearby about speaker brackets.

This is a growing club-wide list of living ACC equipment we collectively own.

I hope it will be soon, but not too soon.
My 140 head works fine, though.

    JBL with 406w.

This is the modelled profile of JBL E140-8's in the Acoustic 406w cabinet. Any chance that the speaker details of the original Eminence 130040-D speakers are available? The JBL's give surprisingly good sensitivity at 40Hz, especially they were blaimed not to produce any low-end. I'm not an expert, but this looks to be well balanced in the low and mid-range.

Below are Eminence Delta 15A's inside the 406w. Bump at 80 Hz, but poor performance at 40. My conclusion is that the JBLs outperforme the new 15A's by a long shot.

    Delta 15A with 406w.

So my 370 was making noises, and I brought it to a friend if mine who's an electronics engineer who repairs amps (also it doesn't hurt that he used one to gig with for 5 years, got one of these to replace his SVT head. They were gigging 5 nights a week, so you get it! He ended up liking the 370 better).

He ran through the entire signal path, reflowing solder joints, cleaning connections, replacing a few smaller caps, and found some leaky bits over by the transformer to replace.

Seems it's running nearly silently now- there is some low level hiss, apparently that's part of the deal, I'm ok with it- and I'm picking it up this weekend. This is to be my #1 amp, and if so, in light of its age, I'd better be tight about its health.

Seems also it would pay to have a very comprehensive run-down done on older gear anyway, as it's bound to be outmoded more and more as time goes by. Pays to do a little research for this old stuff if you want to keep using it.

I've got a mid-90s Trace head for additional use and backup, but this old tank is my first choice. Best amp coloration ever. Tubes, great. I'll take my 370 any day.

Unfortunately there's no data available for the original Eminence 130040-D. A few years back I called Eminence and Anthony told me they didn't keep records on those old OEM drivers for Acoustic.

Witness. I had a 136 combo and got the same reply for inquiry. Emi makes a very close replacement for the 136, maybe there's a similar one for yours?

There was a guy at Eminence' custom shop who knew as much about this stuff as you can find, I forget his name.

Found an Acoustic B120-115 from 1985, loaded with a K140. Probably more interested in the speaker than in the amp, as I will pick up a K140 on Wednesday, and this way I can load my 406 with either Es or Ks.

In what way is the B120 comparable to the ACC 120? I will most likely not buy it but it has the nice Acoustic looks for sure
