So, via a recent Linked-In solicitation, I find that Don Was describes himself as an Anarcho-Syndicalist. Sounds good to me! If Praisers, Nihlists and Atheists are starting clubs, let's get one going that may tap into the Zeitgeist of these troubled times a whole lot more than those others!

BTW, Praisers, Atheists and Nihlists are all welcome!

  2. Clubs are so six months ago, as well as spoofing them. Even I, in my cave, am aware of this.

    Edit: Was/Not Was ROCKS:

This is the third club thread I have read that doesn't have pictures. What good is a club without pictures? What good is any thread without pictures. Am I still on TalkBass? Where are the friggin' pictures? :meh:

Count me in, though I consider myself some what more of a hypocritical anarcho-socialist.

Hypocritical, in that I buy goods manufactured by capitalists. But what can ya do other than live in the wilderness or something akin to that? Maybe I'm not really a true anarcho-socialist then, but I'd quite like to be one, if it were possible for me.

As for pictures, I'm not sure you can have pics of a political ideology :D

Hang on, I've just thought, sorry to be a killjoy but isn't political discussion banned 'round these parts? I can't remember the exact rules though.

Insofar as most anarcho-syndicalists seek to form a society that functions without any political system whatsoever,and/or shun conventional participation in the political process, I figure a club of anarcho-syndicalist bassists is not talking "politics" per se.

OTOH, many anarcho-syndicalists believe that politics and economics are inextricably intertwined, and I'd further submit that as a belief system, anarcho-syndicalism could be tantamount to a religion - for, after all, isn't religion a belief system? I don't see discussion of the economy or religion banned on Talk Bass, so I'd hope that the anarcho-syndicalist bassists club will live long and prosper!

BTW, no numbers for membership...that would not be the anarcho-syndicalist way! Smash the hierarchical hegemony of sequential numbering!

It'll be A Keynsian, followed by a Monetarists Bass Club next!

  12. There's some really nice filth over here! :D

Edit: On topic(I think)- I hope I'm contributing to the anarchist feel here by not really touching the OP's subject. :)

    I'm in.
Edit: -Scratch this part, I see there has already been enough talk about religion-

How does your anarcho-syndicalism manifest in band enviroment?
Mine manifests in slow song-writing process. Getting the pieces finally together and everybody has a say in everything.
