Found the last piece of the puzzle over the weekend - a used Stingray 5HH. I've been hit or miss with them in the past since the ones I tried seemed to be a bit "edgy" to my ears, but the one I got go edgy yet mellow out quite nicely. And I've found very few basses whose slap tone I like as much as a 'Ray's. So now, my arsenal consists of the basic tones: Mike Lull PJ5 - for my Precision needs Mike Lull V5 - for my Jazz tones Mike Lull M5V - my active Jazz (with Audere JZ3 preamp) Ric 4003 - an '86 Mapleglo with black trim Stingray 5HH Pedulla Thunderbass 6 - for the really "modern" tones Roscoe LG3005 Fretless - with Nordstrand Dual Coil pickups.
No bass to give to me for being so astonishingly good looking? xD Just kidding- wicked arsenal there man! Enjoy And yeah we need some family portraits!
can i be the one to say your missing a PJ, a Gibson of some kind (Tbird!!) and maybe a hollow body or acoustic! But still, nice collection... Oh, and a 6 or 7 strings, just for those moments where you wish you could play jazz...
Mike Lull PJ5 is a PJ configuration. As far as the Tbird goes, I'll wait until a used Lull 5-string version shows up. Don't have much interest in a hollow body or acoustic. But I have an Engelhardt double bass. The Pedulla's a sixer.
