I've seen domestic models of these bass years ago. They were inexpensive and basically Music Man copies. They said they were made in the US but my money says it was put together in the US from imported parts. Fast forward to the present and these basses appear to have pretty good components and super bang for buck. But what of the quality? I can find review of the current models any where. I'm interested in a 5 string version of the AP400 which goes for like $400. It looks great but is it really any good? If its as good as it looks, it may even have the G&L Tributes beat. r
It does have a really nice design (minus that headstock. Sorry!). Do they have a return policy? Perhaps you could ask the manufacturer if it would be alright if you tried it out first, and send it back if its not your thing.

I have a G&L ASAT and an old SB-2 with an EMG and love 'em both. But I'd like to have a low B at my disposal and figured eventually I'd luck up on an old G&L Climax bass that I'd convert to BEDG or maybe I'd get a new Tribute 5. Then I saw this TBC model and apparently it comes in a 5 for under $400. I like the slightly weird cousin of the Sting Ray looks. And those slabs of ash look pretty nice, understated, and elegant. I just want to know how it plays and sounds. For the money, I think it might be worth the gamble on the 5. But any input from someone that has actually played that single MM pickup model would really be great. I think these basses are not Korean, but from China. Maybe it really is as good as it appears (to me at least) to be. The Chinese are really kicking butt and prices that are just...well impossible. r
basses that are active and chambered? at that price? I've GOT to order one. I think ther simplicity is what makes the so cool.
