There used to be a bass store...the Bass Palace in Scranton, PA, which is long gone. I never found out what happened to them and couldn't really find too much online or on the forum. Was wondering if any of you guys knew where they ended up. I bought a Genz Benz years ago from them...I think it was the first year of the xb series.

Anyway, if anyone knows where they are now...especially if they're still around northeast PA that would be great. Thanks.

Hopefully gone. I bought a high end bass from them that was a complete turd. I asked him if I could trade it back in on something else. Didn't ask for a refund of the money I gave him on top of the Zon bass I traded in, nor did I ask for my Zon bass back. Wanted to simply trade it back to him for something else and add cash if needed.

He shrugged me off and ignored me from that moment. Just turned and walked away and left me standing there. Soon after that he went out of business for the first of 3 or 4 times and I understood why.

I had a less-than-okay experience with them too.

In an older thread they said Bob still sells on eBay as "thehyn". Not a lot of activity, but it looks like he's still kicking.

EDIT: Looks like the website is alive (http://www.thebasspalace.com/). I didn't even look because it was down for so long.

Apparently, his website isn't properly maintained either. A bunch of basses are listed for $0.00. I tried to buy them, but paypal wouldn't let me.

  6. I bought an Ibanez musician from him on the recent website.
the pictures didn't really show how bad shape it was in. But I
ended up putting it on ebay and didn't lose much.

Hadn't been to that site since 2001. I sent an email inquiry on a bass with no reply back then. Probably for the best.

Pretty lousy customer service but I did buy a nice AS Fender jazz from him with no issues.

Visited his shop couple times years ago, and saw him at guitar shows in king of prussia. His claims of quality and originality far exceeded the facts. I recall similar attitude issues when talking to him.
