Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit) got his hands on some amazing Beatles footage that has been unseen for 50+ years. He and his team meticulously restored the footage.

They’re releasing a 3-part documentary on Disney+ next month. And based on the fact that the original cut was 18 hours, I’m sure die-hard Beatles fans can expect an immersive directors cut in the future.

I’ve never been a huge Beatles fan, but I think I might become one after this. It looks pretty amazing.

I wonder if they'll do a theatrical release. If not, D+ is always doing free trials.

I am a die hard Beatlemaniac. I have loved them since discovering them in about 1976, and go nuts over them. No apology, no doubt.

Seeing that hideously cheap DISNEY logo with the Beatles makes me physically ill. I cannot and will never countenance the two.

The Beatles are the mountaintop. There’s no bigger or better band, ever, and to see that money-starved, lowest denominator, cheap unfeeling logo slapped on the BEATLES is like getting a knife in the gut.

    I, i don’t know. I can’t do it. I just can’t.

    Can't wait.

It looks like a reality show :)

The hardcore style of video re-mastering brings a somewhat eerie feeling.

Yeah. It's seeing them like we've never quite seen them before. Plus, the studio footage and watching iconic songs being created in the moment is like striking gold. I think it's going to be epic.

Disney, Shmisney. In the film industry trenches, the place is known as "Mauschwitz," but I'd still consider a short subscription in order to access this documentary. Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old," restoring footage from WW I, was a masterpiece.

I am legit excited to see this. Just seeing the HD trailer was fantastic. Any footage you see today of the original Let It Be film looks like they spread vaseline on the lens. I will sign up for Disney+ just for this and won't feel bad about it.

“Let It Be” the 1970 movie which this footage was recorded for was a dark depiction of the band and focused more on the conflicts within. It is worth a watch tho just for the music. Peter Jackson’s restoration of the unused footage seems much brighter and should depict the Fab Four in a much more favorable light as the creative geniuses they are and the bond they shared. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Can't wait for all the Bass VI footage.
  19. Long time beatles fan here, and I saw the original film at a beatlefest in the 90s, it was grim and so sad! I’m excited to see more of the lads in the studio and more of the magic they had together. Maybe even enough to get Disney+ or borrow someone’s password anyway.

I’m as anti-corporate as the next guy, but I would buy a year’s subscription to Amazon Prime Plus Supreme to see this.

This is like hanging out with the Beatles in the studio.

    Unseen footage.

    I mean come on.
