Hi Everybody!! Wondering what yall think is the best cab in the categories of:

    *THE ABSOLUTE BEST*:

    best for under 1200:

    best for under 800:

    best for under 500:

    best value:

By best, I mean quality of sound reproduction. No tone coloring or crap like that, that should be handled by a preamp. Exactly what goes in comes out, except less electrical and more vibrational. So what is THE BEST

note: You, my ears, and the friendly folks at guitar center are deciding my future investment in amplification. Whatever I wind up with will be dual use for both bass and keyboards.

    hahaha no

Creating 3 threads all at the same time ISNT the way to go, and no, its not easier. If you want 3 questions asked, ask them in one thread, not 3.

If you want to get a little more info, check the amps buyers guide, its in a thread stuck at the top of them amps forum.

    For starters:

    1) You need to decide how much you're willing to spend. Then ask the question. Just because you decided you were willing to spend $1200 doesn't mean you can't buy a $400 cabinet if you like it though.

    2) An awful lot of people like that colored crap. I find I sometimes have to do quite a bit of tweaking to get my "uncolored" sound, which leads me to believe it's not as uncolored as I might think. If you want to use it for keyboards too it would be helfpul to look for this, but it's not helpful to be needlessly inflammatory to the people you're asking advice of.

    3) Asking for superlatives is likely to ruffle feathers. If you want the "absolute best" then you should be prepared to go find out what this is, because we sure aren't going to agree on what's the absolute best - this is something only you can decide.

    4) The answer to the last bracket is Avatar :)

    5) Your amp power, and/or willingness to upgrade your amp will have a huge impact on the suitability of some cabinets, especially if you're looking for a full range hifi sounding cabinet.

OK, best was the wrong word, if I could delete all the posts and try again(at posting and at first impressions), I would. I wanted to find out what some common preferences were for items that could produce a good uncolored sound so I would have an idea of what to look for.

If you want uncoloured sound reproduction AFAIK there are only 3 options: Acme (www.acmebass.com) Euphonic Audio (www.euphonicaudio.com) and Accugroove (www.accugroove.com) in order of increasing price. I use two Acme Low-B2 cabs and love them, YMMV.
