What has been the best Root Beer you have had?. I have been to several resturants that claim to make their own but i am pretty sure that the best i have had has been some cold out of the can A&W Root Beer.

Culvers is good. And A&W at an A&W drive in is pretty special.

  11. Fifty years ago A&W at one of their shops was fantastic. The drive in stuff these days is nowhere near as good and the canned stuff is terrible. I think finding good root beer is as difficult as finding good ginger ale or ginger beer. And both are well worth the search.

There's a local place in my hometown called Brown's sandwhich shop, and they make their own. It doesnt get any better than that, IMO.

I'm pretty sure it was Dad's.
...here's the thing-It was early '60s, it was pretty hot outside, my mom brought out a glass of ice cold Root Beer, I drank it under a shade tree.

Haven't had a glass of RB since then that could match it.

    On a tangent-
    Best Cream Soda?
...I'm a little blurry on this one; I'm thinking '65, south Philly, Hire's(though I'm not totally sure they made a CS).

  16. Hands down, IBC.

But if we're talking actual fountain root beer, nothing beats A&W on tap.

In most instances. Couple weeks ago had some off the tap in a A&W rootbeer stand in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Took it back twice it was so bad, then got my money back.

I still have yet to have a root beer that I didn't like. Same goes for cream soda.
