    Hello Talkbassers,

    What is the best looking and the most comfortable strap for bass guitar on this planet?

    It depends. is it for metal?
  3. Well, I like mine a lot. I have fairly heavy basses so the thinner guitar straps weren't comfortable. And I didn't like most of the leather ones I tried, and the big padded ones were bulky and funny looking.

    I went with this;

    I think it's really comfortable and it's my favorite one of all time. If you don't mind the Carvin name on it, it's a pretty good deal at $15.00.

    I used a Neotech Super Bass strap for about the last 5 years or so that has been one of the most comfortable straps I have ever owned. Within the last month, I've ordered and received two 4" Italia leather straps (leather backed, not suede) that are extremely comfortable and well made. I've now ordered two Moody straps to compare to the Italias based off their glowing reviews on here. We'll see if they're worth the extra scratch over the Italias or not.

    For $20ish off Amazon, the Neotech is tough to beat. If you prefer leather, the two-for-one running deal at Italia is hard to pass up.

    I am a funk player. So George Clinton, Funkadelic type of psychedelic colors kind of texture fits my style.

    Moody 4" fan. Not cheap but found nothing even close for comfort.

    I use Clayton 3.5 and 2.5 inch width. Very comfy. Made in the USA. Good prices too.

    The fact that you asked the question leads me to believe you're not wearing enough leather.

    Sorry I was making a stupid joke. Cause the cliché here on thos forum is to ask what is the best bass for metal so I was implying there was a best strap for metal....

    For light ones Levy's MNO1 (The 2½" wide No. 1 "stretchy" model of guitar strap) - it is very lightweight and comfy.

    For heavier ones 3" or 4" leather - I've made mine from recycled used leather belts actually, costing few euros. Distribute weight.

    I have a bunch of Levy's garment leather straps on my guitars. They are real nice, soft, and build to last a lifetime. On my bass I have an Ernie Ball 2 inch fake croc skin. It has served me when but is starting to crack and will be replaced by a Levy's if I can find one long enough.

    Wear one on a gig 4 hrs and you'll think they way more special than the Italia or Levy cows

    Any strap that doesn't cling to my shirt. I hate that.
